The funding has started!

On June 21st 2017 we hosted a Community Soup Funding event on our site, run by One Manchester.  After pitching our project to the audience alongside the 5 other projects on the night, we were voted into 1st place and received a whopping £5,000 funding towards building our site composting toilets!!

This is excellent news, and will help to get phase 1 started.

The first phase of the project will be to remove the old, derelict toilet block from opposite the trading shed, and have a 20ft x 10ft covered wooden decking built in it's place,  levelled up on brick pillars or foundations.

Phase 2 (for which we have another funding application in at the moment), will be to purchase the 2 Fully Accessible toilet units and have them installed on the deck with a hand washing facility in between them.

The units we are looking at are pictured below, with some (not to scale) design ideas to show you how I hope it will look when it's finished.

Please keep checking back here to see the progress of our funding bids and project overall.
